“They Told Me Ogolla Could Overthrow My Government”: Ruto Reveals Warnings He Received Before Appointing Late General Francis Ogolla

President William Ruto has opened up about the difficult circumstances surrounding his decision to appoint the late General Francis Ogolla as Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF), revealing that some of his closest political allies warned him against making the move. WATCH FULL INTERVIEW HERE.

Speaking about the appointment, Ruto disclosed that he faced significant pressure from individuals who believed choosing General Ogolla could pose a political and security risk to his administration. 

According to the President, some advisors feared that the military leadership decision could have serious consequences and even destabilize the government if not handled carefully.

The Head of State said concerns were raised within his political circle, with some leaders allegedly urging him to appoint someone they considered politically loyal. 

Among those who reportedly expressed reservations was former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who is said to have advised caution when making such a sensitive appointment.
