What Betty Bayo Sent to Her Close Friend at Exactly 3:47pm Before Her Passing

The death of celebrated Kikuyu gospel artist Betty Bayo has left Kenyans in deep sorrow, especially after a revelation by her close friend showing what the singer sent her just hours before her passing.

Betty, who succumbed to cancer on Monday afternoon, reportedly sent her best friend, Njoki, an M-Pesa message at exactly 3:47 pm less than 24 hours before she died.

The message, which Njoki shared on Facebook, showed the sender’s name as Beatrice Mbugua, Betty’s official name.

However, she hid the amount, saying she was too heartbroken to share it publicly.

“Guys, this was just yesterday at 3:47 pm. Baayo, why?” Njoki captioned the screenshot, accompanied by crying emojis that reflected her pain and disbelief.

The post immediately drew an emotional response from Kenyans, who flooded her comment section with words of comfort.

Many described Betty as a kind soul who touched lives through her songs and generosity.

Others lamented how cruel cancer has been, taking away talented individuals in their prime.

In another post, Njoki shared a touching video of her and Betty dancing to the singer’s popular song Siyabonga, writing, “It is not well.”

The video has since gone viral, with fans describing it as a heartbreaking reminder of the joyful spirit Betty always carried.

Murang’a Woman Representative Betty Maina confirmed that the singer breathed her last at around 1:00 pm at Kenyatta National Hospital after battling leukaemia.

Betty’s family, friends, and former husband Pastor Victor Kanyari are expected to announce her burial plans soon.

Her passing marks the end of an inspiring musical journey that encouraged faith, hope, and perseverance among her followers.
