"Hakuna Shida, Msitoroke" Gachagua Forced to End Rally After Supporters Flee Gilgil Chaos

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was on Tuesday forced to cut short his roadside rally in Gilgil Town after chaos erupted, sending hundreds of supporters fleeing for safety.

The dramatic incident occurred while DAP-K party leader Eugene Wamalwa was addressing the gathering.

Moments into his speech, panic spread among the crowd, with people seen hurriedly leaving the venue.

Police officers reportedly moved in to disrupt the rally, prompting confusion and commotion among attendees.

In an attempt to calm the situation, Gachagua, who was holding another microphone, tried to reassure his supporters, urging them not to flee.

“Hakuna shida, msitoroke!” he shouted, insisting that everything was under control.

Despite his plea, the crowd continued to disperse, forcing the leaders to end the rally prematurely.

Wamalwa then began chanting Wantam slogans before they ended their Livestream on social media

The opposition figures, who had earlier attended a burial ceremony in the area, used the occasion to criticize President William Ruto’s administration.

Gachagua dismissed Ruto’s recent remarks attacking the opposition’s unity, saying the alleged “line-up” being discussed was fake and that no flag bearer had been chosen yet.

On his part, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka urged residents of Nakuru County to join the Tawe Movement, which he described as a push for change and better governance ahead of the 2027 general election.
