Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Oburu Odinga has openly admitted that the party is grappling with internal divisions across several regions ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during a meeting with grassroots leaders from Taita Taveta held in Nairobi, Oburu acknowledged that the challenges facing the party are widespread and not limited Taita alone.
According to him, the wrangles being witnessed in Taita Taveta are a reflection of similar issues affecting ODM structures in other parts of the country, including Western Kenya, Nairobi, and Nyanza.
His remarks was in response to an incident where Taita Taveta Senator Johnes Mwaruma was heckled by grassroots leaders during the event, highlighting growing discontent within the party ranks.
Oburu, however, reassured members that the party leadership is actively working to address and resolve the disputes before they escalate further.
He urged grassroots leaders to remain committed to strengthening and popularizing ODM as they seek to support President William Ruto's reelection.
