Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Oburu Odinga has issued a warning to party aspirants against attempting to influence the nomination process through bribery, as the party begins early preparations for the next General Election.
Speaking in Nairobi during a meeting that brought together ODM aspirants from Taita Taveta County, Oburu said that the party is committed to conducting free and fair nominations.
He cautioned politicians against using money to gain an unfair advantage.
Oburu made it clear that he would not entertain any form of bribery, including small tokens disguised as facilitation, such as fuel money.
“Hii uchaguzi inakuja ODM itakuwa free and fair, hakuna mtu atakuja kushika koti yangu. Muwache kupigana mangumi mkitusiana mpaka kwa mama zenu!” he said.
