According to her, she had been working diligently as a househelp for nearly a year in one of Nairobi’s estates and had developed what she believed was a good relationship with her employer. However, everything allegedly changed after a misunderstanding involving food in the house.
Speaking about the incident, Mary claimed she had prepared dinner for the family as usual and later ate leftovers after completing her chores.

Unfortunately, her employer reportedly became furious after noticing that some food had been consumed without prior permission.
“I did not think it would become such a huge issue,” Mary explained emotionally. “I had worked the entire day, cleaned the house, washed clothes, and prepared meals. I only ate because I was hungry and thought it would not be a problem since there was enough food.”
According to her, the situation quickly escalated into an argument. She said her employer accused her of disrespecting house rules and allegedly ordered her to leave the house immediately despite it already being late in the evening.
Mary claims she pleaded for forgiveness and asked to stay until morning because she had nowhere else to go at night. However, her pleas allegedly fell on deaf ears.
“She told me to pack my belongings and leave immediately,” Mary recalled. “I begged her because I had nowhere to sleep and no money for transport, but she insisted that I leave.”
