Kajiado, Kenya — Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has dismissed claims that Martha Karua has abandoned the United Opposition, stating that any leader uncomfortable with the coalition is free to chart their own political path ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Speaking during a public baraza at Elangata Enkima in Kajiado South Constituency, Rigathi Gachagua addressed the growing speculation surrounding divisions within the opposition camp. 

In a blunt and unapologetic tone, he told off those allegedly complaining about being sidelined in coalition arrangements.

“Nasikia kuna wengine tulikuwa nao wakatoka eti tumekataa kuwapatia nafasi. Wakwende kabisa, waende kabisa. Sisi hatubembelezi mtu,” he said, drawing cheers from sections of the crowd.
