Joy Wanjiku, a Grade 10 student who survived the deadly blaze, has spoken publicly about the painful experience, revealing claims that have sparked fresh debate about accountability and safety standards in schools.

According to Wanjiku, she was deeply disturbed by the alleged behavior of some students suspected of involvement in the incident. 

She claimed that rather than showing remorse after the fire, some of the individuals linked to the tragedy appeared to celebrate and embrace one another, actions she described as shocking and heartbreaking considering the magnitude of the loss suffered by families and the school community.
