Uhuru Kenyatta Suffers a Major Blow as Junet Mohamed Publicly Accuses Him of Causing Disorganisation in ODM

National Assembly Minority Leader and Suna East MP Junet Mohamed has delivered a stinging public rebuke to former President Uhuru Kenyatta, directly blaming him for contributing to the party's current state of disorganisation in ODM Party. Speaking in an interview featured by Daily Nation and shared widely on social media causing mixed reactions.

Junet said and i quote, “There are people, including myself, who believe that some of the disorganisation in ODM is partly associated with Uhuru Kenyatta because he wanted us to remain in the Azimio group. He wanted us to go into the next election like that without considering that part of ODM is now in broad-based government.”The remarks highlight deepening fractures in ODM following the death of Raila Odinga and the party's controversial entry into a broad-based administration with President William Ruto's Kenya Kwanza coalition.

Junet, a vocal supporter of this government partnership, suggested that Uhuru's influence has pushed certain factions to cling to the old Azimio la Umoja opposition framework, ignoring the new reality where ODM members hold key Cabinet positions, including John Mbadi as Treasury CS.This accusation marks a significant blow to Uhuru's lingering political influence. Previously, Junet has alleged Uhuru-backed plots to inject billions into ODM to derail the broad-based arrangement and pull the party back into opposition ahead of 2027.
