"Huu Ni Mchezo Wake" Gathoni Wamuchomba Accuse Gachagua of Playing 'Hide and Seek' Game for Political Attention, Reacts to Removal of Banners

Githunguri MP Wamuchomba has condemned the growing trend of tearing down political banners, warning that such actions only serve the interests of self-seeking politicians while doing nothing to improve the lives of ordinary Kenyans.

In a strongly worded statement, Wamuchomba said destroying campaign banners neither feeds hungry families nor fixes the struggling economy, but instead fuels political division. He argued that politicians thrive on chaos and symbolic fights, using them as excuses to pit communities against each other.

“Tearing down banners won’t put food on the table or lower the cost of living,”Wamuchomba stated. “It only gives politicians more excuses to divide us. Hiyo ni mchezo wao and Kenyans should stop playing it.”

The legislator urged citizens to shift their focus from political symbolism to accountability, insisting that leaders should be challenged on real issues such as unemployment, the rising cost of living, and economic recovery.

According to Wamuchomba, public energy is being wasted on distractions while critical national problems remain unresolved. He called on Kenyans to demand better leadership and meaningful solutions rather than engaging in actions that deepen political hostility.

His remarks come amid heightened political tensions in parts of the country, where rival groups have reportedly been vandalizing campaign materials, raising concerns about intolerance and escalating divisions ahead of future political contests.

Wamuchomba’s message adds to a growing chorus of voices calling for issue-based politics and national unity, urging Kenyans to rise above divisive tactics and hold leaders accountable for tangible results.
