The man, who many identified only as “Sihitaji,” became a familiar face in the area after he was allegedly seen spending long hours around bus stations, shop verandas, and market corners. According to locals, his troubles reportedly began after a painful personal loss that left him emotionally and financially devastated.
Several residents claimed that before his struggles, Sihitaji had been known as a hardworking and cheerful individual who rarely depended on anyone. However, after tragedy struck, his life allegedly took a difficult turn.
“He was once very active and always seemed focused,” one resident said. “But after what happened, he slowly changed. Nowadays, he just walks around alone, and sometimes people try talking to him, but he avoids long conversations.”
According to those familiar with his situation, concerned members of the community attempted to support him in various ways. Some reportedly offered him temporary accommodation, food, and clothing, while others tried connecting him with casual work opportunities so he could begin rebuilding his life.
However, many were left disappointed after the man allegedly refused most forms of assistance.
“One woman even offered him a place to stay for a few weeks,” a market vendor shared. “But after a few days, he disappeared and returned to the streets. It’s painful because people genuinely wanted to help.”
