Missing for Three Days: 15-year-old Girl Rescued from Mob in Githurai After CCTV Captures Child Abduction

A tense and emotional rescue operation unfolded in Nairobi's Githurai area after a missing child was found alive following a police operation triggered by CCTV footage that allegedly captured a suspect leading the minor away from a residential estate.

The incident, which has generated widespread concern among residents and parents, began when the child disappeared under circumstances that initially remained unclear. 

Family members reportedly spent several days searching for the youngster throughout the neighborhood, contacting friends, neighbors, and local authorities in a desperate effort to find any clues regarding the child's whereabouts.

For three days, the search yielded no significant breakthrough, leaving relatives increasingly worried about the child's safety. 

However, the case took a dramatic turn when surveillance footage from a nearby property surfaced online and quickly spread across social media platforms.

According to reports, the footage allegedly showed a young woman walking away with the child from a residential area. 

The images immediately attracted public attention and prompted investigators to intensify efforts to identify and locate the individual seen in the video.

Police officers launched a search operation and successfully traced the suspect shortly afterward. Her arrest quickly drew large crowds of concerned residents, many of whom had been following developments through social media updates and local community networks.

Witnesses reported heightened tension outside the local police station as residents demanded answers regarding the missing child. 

Authorities appealed for calm while continuing their investigation and attempting to establish the whereabouts of the minor.

During questioning, officers reportedly instructed the suspect to lead them to the location where the child was allegedly being held. 

The operation then moved to a building under construction on the outskirts of Githurai, where investigators conducted a search of the premises.

To the relief of family members and residents, police discovered the missing child alive inside the building. 

Although frightened by the ordeal, the child was reportedly found safe and immediately placed under the care of authorities for medical assessment and psychological support.

The discovery shocked many residents and raised further concerns when officers allegedly found several other children at the same location. 

Authorities have since indicated that the rescued minors are undergoing medical examinations and counseling as investigators work to determine the circumstances that led to their presence at the site.

Police confirmed that the suspect remains in custody as investigations continue. During preliminary questioning, she allegedly claimed that another individual had directed her actions. 

According to statements attributed to the suspect, she told investigators that a man identified only as "Moses" instructed her to take a child and promised to return a mobile phone that he had allegedly taken from her.

Authorities have not verified the claims but confirmed that efforts are underway to identify and locate the individual mentioned in the suspect's statement. 

Detectives are now examining whether the incident may be linked to a broader criminal operation involving child abduction or trafficking.

Law enforcement officials have urged members of the public to remain vigilant and immediately report suspicious activities involving children to the nearest police station. 

They emphasized that community cooperation remains critical in preventing crimes targeting vulnerable minors.
