Oburu Odinga Makes Final Decision on the Future of ODM in Deal With President Ruto

Amid the wrangles inside the ODM party pitting two camps, the party leader Dr Oburu Oginga has come out to state his position.

While speaking during the funeral of his uncle in Alego, Siaya County on Friday, Dr Oginga said that the future of ODM is in the broad-based government.

According to the Siaya County senator who poured cold water on those asking the party to exit the broad-based government, ODM will enter into a formal negotiation with President Ruto's UDA ahead of the next general election.

On the future of rhe party, Dr Oginga set the record straight that ODM will be in the next government, not through the backdoor but through the front door.

The Siaya senator revealed that they will soon form a team to negotiate with UDA on a political deal ahead of 2027.

The 82-year old has also dismissed those who have been asking him to call the party's National Delegates Conference to help iron out the contentious issues that have threatened to tear the party apart.

To those who claim that he was in office illegally as he was not elected as party leader, the former Bondo MP told them off, saying that he is the de facto ODM party leader.
