Mother Loses All Her Three Children in Devastating Road Accident

A tragic road accident in Bungoma County has left a mother bereft after losing all three of her children in a devastating crash that occurred while the family was visiting a children’s home she supported.

The heartbreaking incident unfolded on Christmas Eve along the busy Webuye–Malaba highway, cutting short the lives of the siblings and plunging the mother into deep grief.

The deceased children, whose names have been widely reported in local media, were among twelve passengers killed when the vehicle they were riding in was involved in a horrific collision at Mukhonje in Webuye East Constituency

The tragedy struck just as the family was preparing to share festive moments together, turning a season of joy into one of sorrow.

Local leaders, including National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, visited the grieving family to offer condolences and call for stricter enforcement of traffic laws.

Wetang’ula described the loss as “unimaginable and unbearable,” underscoring the human cost of reckless driving and poor compliance with road safety regulations.

He urged motorists to adhere to traffic rules to prevent avoidable deaths that continue to claim young lives across the country.

The Bungoma Woman Representative and other elected officials also joined the delegation to console the bereaved, offering financial support to help the family during this difficult period.

Authorities and community leaders emphasized the need for improved road safety measures, especially during festive seasons when travel increases and accidents tend to spike.

The loss of these three children has sparked mourning in the community, with many calling for enhanced public awareness on road safety.

Families across the region have expressed profound sadness, sharing their grief and urging collective efforts to protect vulnerable road users.
