CS Julius Ogamba to Announce 2025 KCSE Results at This Time

The Ministry of Education has confirmed that the long-awaited 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results will be officially released tomorrow, January 9, at 9.30am in Eldoret.

The announcement brings relief to more than 996,000 candidates and their families who have been anxiously waiting for weeks.

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba is expected to preside over the release ceremony, which will take place at the Eldoret National Polytechnic.

Senior officials from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC), regional education directors, and other key stakeholders will also be in attendance.

According to ministry officials, Eldoret was selected to symbolise regional balance and decentralisation of national events.

This year’s KCSE exams were administered in November 2025 across the country under heightened supervision, following renewed government efforts to curb cheating and restore the credibility of national examinations.

KNEC had earlier indicated that the marking process was completed on time, with strict quality assurance measures put in place to ensure fairness and accuracy.

Ahead of the release, CS Ogamba held consultations with President William Ruto and senior education officials, a routine step that signals readiness for public announcement.

The ministry has assured candidates that the results reflect genuine performance and that any irregularities were thoroughly investigated during marking.

Once released, candidates will be able to access their results through the official KNEC online portal as well as via SMS, using the standard result-checking procedure.

Schools will also receive detailed performance reports to guide placement and career advice for learners.

The release comes at a critical time, as universities and tertiary institutions prepare for the 2026 intake.

Education experts say the results will shape placement decisions and influence ongoing discussions about reforms in the Competency-Based Curriculum transition.
