And some of the leaders that were engaged for the meeting incident; Siaya Governor Honourable James Aggrey Bob Orengo, Embakasi East Member of Parliament Honourable Babu Owino, Suba North MP Honourable Millie Odhiambo, Kisumu County Women Representative Hon. Ruth Odinga amongst others.
Courtesy of his official X Handle, Caleb Amisi congratulated Sifuna for the bold move. And he said the following......"Meli Okeng'o nanga." (The ship has left the dock).
Amisi, a staunch Sifuna ally and member of the Defense and Foreign Relations Committee, has reacted to these developments by calling for maturity and inclusivity within ODM.
In a January 1 X post, he criticized party leaders for "chest-thumping" and attempting to "chase members away" over divergent views, stating, "This is not how Baba would do it.
A small divergent of views, they want to chase members away. Calling each other names. So who will vote for you as ODM candidate? Baba must be turning himself in the grave in dismay! Kenya needs a renaissance."
This statement appears to directly address the expulsion threats against Sifuna, positioning Amisi as a proponent of the dialogue.
He has consistently warned against ODM's potential fragmentation, arguing in a December 29 post that the party risks being "sold" to external interests like UDA or former President Uhuru Kenyatta's allies.
Amisi calculated ODM's value based on its 7 million members and 20-year history, urging negotiations to benefit grassroots branches rather than elite factions.
In earlier posts, Amisi threatened to leave ODM if it maintains ties with UDA, predicting that Ruto's influence could lead to more UDA MPs in traditional ODM strongholds like Nyanza.
"Ruto does not want a coalition that will demand Deputy President slot; he wants to destroy ODM to achieve one-party monopoly," he wrote on December 19.
