Police Probe Death of Nairobi IT Firm CEO Found Dead at Apartment Complex

Police are investigating the death of Evans Githua, the Chief Executive Officer of Nairobi-based IT solutions company Com Twenty One, whose body was found behind an apartment building in the Kilimani area.

According to preliminary police reports, Githua is believed to have died after falling from the 14th floor of Alba Apartments along Kasuku Road, where he had booked a short-stay room.

The incident was reported on Tuesday afternoon, prompting officers to secure the scene and launch investigations.

Police said Githua checked into the apartment on Monday night at around 8:54pm. His body was discovered the following day after concerns were raised, leading to a search of the premises.

Investigators reported that the apartment unit had been locked from the inside, forcing officers to break in.

Inside the room, police noted signs that suggested the deceased may have been alone prior to the incident. The bedsitter appeared disturbed, with indications that events had occurred inside the room before the fall.

The body was found with injuries consistent with a fall from a height and was later transferred to the mortuary, where a post-mortem examination is expected to establish the exact cause of death.

Family members told police they became alarmed after Githua failed to return home and could not be reached on his mobile phones, which was unusual for him.

While initial findings point to a suspected suicide, police emphasized that investigations are ongoing to establish all the circumstances surrounding the incident and rule out any other possibilities.

The death has shocked members of the business and technology community, with colleagues describing Githua as a successful executive who had recently secured major business deals.

Several associates said there had been no obvious signs of distress in the days leading up to his death.

Authorities have urged the public to avoid speculation as investigations continue.
