"You Will Go Home" Ruto's Ally Bows Down To Pressure, Slams These Leaders Ahead Of 2027 Elections

National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah has called on elected leaders to embrace courage and integrity when making decisions that affect the country.

He reminded politicians that public service is not about clinging to power but about making choices that genuinely improve people’s lives.

Ichung’wah noted that many leaders hold back from taking firm positions because they fear backlash from voters or political rivals.

He urged them to focus on doing what is right rather than seeking temporary comfort or approval.

According to him, leaders who act in the best interest of citizens, even when those decisions are unpopular at first, will eventually earn respect.

He added that going home after serving one’s term should not be viewed as a failure.

Instead, he said that leaders who serve honestly will be remembered with appreciation by the communities they represented.

“If you make sound decisions, you will return to people who are grateful and proud of your service. Do not let fear guide your leadership,” he told the gathering.

Ichung’wah encouraged leaders at all levels to approach their duties with confidence, clarity and a strong sense of purpose.

He stressed that Kenya needs leaders who are ready to take responsibility and stand by their choices, especially during challenging moments.

His remarks come at a time when the political climate remains tense, with growing pressure on elected officials to demonstrate accountability and commitment to public welfare.
