ODM Deputy Party Leader, Simba Arati, has reiterated that the ODM party is only with President William Ruto until 2027, after which it will move on.
The Kisii governor has stated that they will not be part of Ruto's reelection bid, as the party is working on supporting it's own presidential candidate.
According to the county chief, the outfit has for long had the ambition to form government and exit the opposition, and plans on achieving this dream in 2027.
“The party’s stance is that in 2027, we will form the government. We have been in opposition for a long time," he is quoted by The Star.
Arati held that not having a candidate would amount to betrayal to the late Raila Odinga, who led ODM until his death in October, claiming he always wanted ODM to rule.
“If anyone among us is dissenting from Raila’s direction, I urge you to slow down. ODM is ours with all 15 million members."
