The advisory, released through the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi, urged American citizens to remain vigilant and exercise caution as tensions continue to rise in parts of the country.

The warning comes after demonstrations broke out on Monday, June 1, with angry residents expressing concern over plans to establish a facility intended to handle potential Ebola-related cases involving U.S. nationals.

According to the embassy, while the protests were initially concentrated in Nanyuki town, there is concern that similar demonstrations could emerge in other areas, including Nairobi and neighboring counties.

Officials noted that public gatherings in Kenya can sometimes escalate quickly, leading to disruptions in transport, road closures, and increased police activity.

In its advisory, the embassy instructed U.S. citizens to avoid protest zones, large crowds, and areas experiencing heightened security operations.

Travelers were also encouraged to monitor local media reports regularly and stay informed about changing road conditions that could affect movement.
