Pastor Ezekiel Serves Ruto With a Warning

Pastor Ezekiel Odero, accompanied by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and several prominent church leaders, addressed journalists in Cerani and issued a strong warning to President William Ruto's government.(Watch the warning here).

The preacher criticized the proposed Religious Organizations Bill 2026, sponsored by Tana River Senator Danson Mungatana, arguing that it seeks to place churches under government control.

Pastor Ezekiel described the proposal as an attack on religious freedom, stating that any effort to regulate or interfere with church affairs would attract divine judgment. He maintained that the church should remain independent and free from state interference.

Gachagua also voiced his opposition to the bill, backing the church's autonomy and aligning himself with Pastor Ezekiel's position. He warned the government against interfering with religious institutions, insisting that such actions could have serious spiritual consequences.

The dispute has intensified an ongoing standoff between government authorities and religious leaders, with both sides standing firm on their positions.

Pastor Ezekiel's message was emphatic: any attempt to undermine the church, he said, would invite God's judgment.
