Speaking during an interview, Oburu dismissed rumours of favouritism, saying the party would hold open and fair nominations where every aspirant would be treated equally.
He assured party members that no one would be blocked if they have genuine support from the people.
“I do not see anything wrong with Babu Owino. I don’t know why he feels he cannot be given the ODM ticket. If he wins the nomination, he will get it,” Oburu said.
He praised Babu’s energy and leadership skills, saying ODM values young leaders who are passionate about service delivery and change.
Oburu explained that the party remains committed to giving young people a platform to lead, adding that generational unity is key to ODM’s future.
“I believe in youth leadership. I’m often called the Gen Z leader because I support young leaders taking charge. Our focus is to build a united party that includes everyone,” he added.
