Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka has given strong advice to former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i as he pushes his campaign for the 2027 presidency.
Speaking during a public gathering on Sunday in Nakuru County, Onyonka told Matiang’i that leadership is about protecting citizens and not using force against them.
“I want to ask Matiang’i, if you become the President of Kenya, never take the life of any citizen,” Onyonka said firmly, drawing applause from the congregation.
He explained that Kenyans are tired of leaders who treat them harshly when they raise their voices about problems like unemployment, poverty, and corruption.
Onyonka said Kenya needs a president who listens to the cries of the people and responds with fairness, not violence.
