Moses Kuria Hints Mt Kenya People Will Reject Ruto At The Ballot in 2027, Says They're Under Siege

Former Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has warned that the political mood in Mt Kenya is quickly shifting and could hurt President William Ruto in the next General Election.

Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV, Kuria said he has gathered information from people on the ground showing growing dissatisfaction with the Kenya Kwanza administration.

According to him, many in the Mt Kenya region now feel sidelined and targeted by some of Ruto’s close allies.

Kuria specifically mentioned Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, accusing him of making remarks that portrayed Mt Kenya as a region that considers itself superior.

He argued that such statements have angered voters, creating a sense of betrayal among a community that overwhelmingly supported Ruto in 2022.

“I have walked in several villages across Murang’a and other counties. What I am hearing is that people feel they are under siege. They are saying that in 2027, all six million votes from the region will go to a single candidate—not necessarily President Ruto. They want a leader who will make the country work for everyone,” Kuria explained.
