Gachagua: I Want Gen Zs On The Decision Table So They Can Be Part of Solution To Kenya’s Problems

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has called for a stronger role for Kenya’s youth in shaping the nation’s future, emphasizing that the country cannot tackle its growing challenges without including Gen Z voices at the core of decision-making.

Speaking on Sunday with locals, Gachagua said the participation of young people is no longer optional but a necessity if Kenya is to move beyond recurring political and economic struggles.

“I want the Gen Zs to sit on the decision table so that they can be part of the solution to Kenya’s problems,” he declared, urging leaders to open spaces for youth influence in governance.

“Once we are elected, if we don’t measure up to the expectations of the Gen Zs, they will drive us out of town furiously and with brutal efficiency. The only way for us to be safe is to bring the Gen Zs on board so that if there is backlash, we suffer together.”
