This follows the emergence of confirmed reports that a section of Western Region leaders led by National Assembly Speaker Moses Masika Wetang'ula, alias Papa Wa Roma, wants the position to be ceded for the region that boats of at least 2,500,000 votes as per the IEBC register of 2022.

That the chances of Deputy President Kithure Kindiki being retained as the DP after the 2027 general election, should Ruto win, are now slim is now a matter of wait and see.
