"Forgive Him If He Annoyed You, He's Gone" Ida Odinga Tells Critics Who Called Hubby Raila, Names

Mama Ida Odinga has urged Kenyans, especially those who may have disagreed with her late husband Raila Odinga, to forgive him for any wrongs or misunderstandings that may have occurred during his political journey.

Speaking at her Opoda home in Bondo, Ida reflected on Raila’s life, describing him as a man who valued peace and reconciliation above all else.

She acknowledged that Raila’s decades-long political career often brought him into conflict with others, but said he was never one to hold grudges.

“On behalf of my husband, I ask those who might have felt wronged by him to forgive,” she said emotionally.

“He was a man who forgave easily. If he annoyed or offended you in any way, please let it go, because he is gone. He is with his Maker now. Raila believed in forgiving and moving on, and I ask you to do the same.”

Ida’s message came as a moment of spiritual reflection for many Kenyans still mourning the veteran politician’s passing.

She expressed her faith that Raila’s soul now rests peacefully, confident that his life of service and forgiveness has earned him a place with God.
