On January 27, 2026, Winnie, who was speaking during an interview on Citizen TV Kenya, said that she has met Mr. Oketch, adding that no one really knows him.
The MP said she feels sorry for Salah, whom she said should visit Mathare or the offices of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
MP Winnie Odinga said, "You were not there when my father died. My father died with somebody he knew and loved him. Mental health is an important thing. A flat-out lie that you were there during the time of my father's death and you were not is dangerous. Talking about things that did not occur is not okay. I believe he should rush to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations or go to Mathare."
The MP also said that Dr. Oburu is the best person to lead the party. She called on the leadership to listen to young politicians, affirming that Embakasi East Member of Parliament, Babu Owino, and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna are members of ODM.
According to Winnie, no one should be removed from the party for expressing themselves, and young people should be given a chance to lead.
