Speculation As Kiambu MPs Reportedly Confront Ruto At Sagana State Lodge Over This Situation

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has spoken out following the demolition of Governor Kimani Wamatangi’s business premises in Nairobi. The demolition, which took place in the early hours of January 13, 2026, has sparked widespread debate and concern over political tensions in Kiambu County.

The destruction of the business on Douglas Wakiihuri Road followed a high-level meeting at Sagana State Lodge on the evening of January 12. During the meeting, a group of Kiambu MPs presented President William Ruto with strict demands.

They called for Governor Wamatangi’s business to be demolished and for criminal charges to be pursued against him. They also requested that police actively prevent DCP party meetings in the county.

Under pressure, President Ruto reportedly agreed to the MPs’ demands. Shortly after, excavators supervised by police moved in to demolish the business premises. Several customer vehicles parked on site were also destroyed during the operation.

In addition to the demolition, officials from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) held discussions with the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) regarding criminal charges against Governor Wamatangi. The objective of these discussions is to facilitate his arrest in connection with the ongoing investigation.

He further claimed that Plans are also underway to form a special police unit tasked with disrupting and preventing DCP party gatherings in Kiambu County. This unit is expected to work closely with organized local groups to monitor political activities in the area.
