Ruto Addresses Mammoth Crowd in Othaya Shortly After Church Event, Flagged by Kindiki, Gov Mutahi

President William Ruto has today taken his development agenda to Nyeri County this Sunday, addressing a massive, energetic crowd in Othaya following a church service in Chinga.

The visit, characterized by high-level political optics and significant financial commitments, has seen the President flanked his Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga.

The atmosphere in Othaya is electric as residents turn out in their thousands to hear the Head of State’s vision for the region.

Ruto has not come empty-handed, placing a heavy emphasis on healthcare and infrastructure as the twin pillars of his local "Bottom-Up" strategy.

A major highlight of his address is the formalization of the Mwai Kibaki Referral Hospital.

The President has announced that the facility has been established as an independent national medical entity, a move designed to decouple it from bureaucratic bottlenecks and elevate its service standards.

To back this up, he has committed a KSh500 million injection specifically for upgrades, ensuring the people of Nyeri have access to specialized care without traveling to Nairobi.

Beyond healthcare, the President has detailed a massive KSh21 billion investment portfolio aimed at transforming Nyeri’s economic landscape.

This funding is earmarked for modern markets, providing traders with dignified spaces to conduct business.

Affordable housing. Addressing the growing urban demand for decent shelter.

Student hostels. Supporting the rising student population in the county’s various institutions.

The President’s message is clear that no part of Kenya is being left behind.

By focusing on tangible projects like markets and housing, the administration aims to create immediate jobs while building long-term wealth for the residents.

The presence of Cabinet Secretaries and local MPs has further underscored a coordinated effort to ensure these multi-billion shilling projects move from paper to the ground.
