Speaking as quoted by the Nation on Sunday, Ruth without fear stated that the party must prepare to field its own presidential candidate in the upcoming general election, and cautined that any form of pre-election deal risks backfiring.
“I believe ODM must field candidates everywhere. That is the point of a political party,” she said.
On his part, Oburu challenged those opposed to him to meet him at the upcoming NDC where ODM Party's top leadershi will be put under a democratic test.
The development comes just hours after Oburu among other leaders such as Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, Kisii Governor Simba Arati, Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang among others in a rally in Kakamega announced that the party must negotiate with like-minded parties and not DCP of Gachagua.
