Speaking in Malindi on Thursday, January 15, 2026, the legislator said the Coast must no longer be left out of key national political decisions. She noted that past exclusions had limited the region’s access to development opportunities, public resources, and meaningful influence in government.
Mnyazi made the remarks during an event at the Malindi Jua Kali Sheds in Shela Ward. The occasion marked the official handover of a site to a contractor for the construction of a Ksh66.2 million project under the Economic Stimulus Programme. She said development projects would only be sustained if the region had a strong voice at the national political table.
The MP explained that Coast leaders had recently held consultations in Mombasa to agree on a united political position. According to her, the leaders resolved to speak with one voice as national coalition talks gather pace ahead of the 2027 General Election.
She revealed that Mining and Blue Economy Cabinet Secretary Hassan Ali Joho had been agreed upon as the key political point person for the region. Mnyazi said Coast leaders would align their political direction under his leadership to avoid internal divisions that weaken bargaining power.
