In a statement issued after the meeting, Amisi said the talks focused on issues of shared interest, particularly development priorities aimed at improving the welfare of the people.
“This morning I held a meeting with CS Wycliffe Oparanya in his office. We discussed issues of common interest on development of our people,” Amisi stated
Beyond development, the ODM lawmaker disclosed that the discussions also touched on internal party matters, including concerns over ongoing developments within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and the party’s future direction.
“We also shared concerns on happenings of ODM and our future stake in the party going forward,” he added.
Amisi’s remarks have triggered speculation of possible political realignments, given Oparanya’s current role in President William Ruto’s Cabinet and Amisi’s position as a vocal opposition MP.
While Amisi stopped short of indicating any shift in party allegiance, his reference to the future of ODM has fueled debate over the party’s internal cohesion and strategy.
He concluded his statement on an optimistic note, framing the engagement as part of a broader national vision.
“Kenyan renaissance is on course,” Amisi said.
