Love Triangle? Witness Finally Reveals 2 Nairobi Women Who Were Dating Eric Before He Killed Kemunto

New details suggesting a complex romantic relationship emerged in court as a key witness testified in the murder trial of Multimedia University student Sylvia Kemunto.

The witness identified two other female students who were allegedly involved with the accused, Eric Mutinda Philip, around the time of Kemunto’s death.

Appearing before the High Court in Kibera, the witness PK told the court that he was aware Sylvia was in a relationship with the accused even as he dated A and JO, who are also witnesses in the case.

The testimony painted a picture of strained relationships and mounting tension in the weeks leading up to the killing.

According to the witness, Sylvia discovered in mid-February 2025 that the accused was involved with another woman identified as J.

This discovery reportedly led to a disagreement, and Sylvia ended the relationship.

Despite this, the accused allegedly continued to pursue her.

PK further testified that the accused later called him and admitted responsibility for Kemunto’s death.

The court heard that the killing occurred on March 30, 2025, and that the body was concealed in a suitcase before being placed in a water tank on the rooftop of a male hostel within the university.

The witness told the court that the accused later indicated plans to leave the country and sought secrecy.

Concerned by the confession, PK said he contacted a relative of the accused and urged him to surrender to authorities.

The court was also informed that PK and the accused share a long-standing relationship, having grown up in the same area of Sultan Hamud in Makueni County and attended the same secondary school.

The accused denied the charges and entered a plea of not guilty on April 29, 2025.

The trial continues as the prosecution seeks to establish motive circumstances and responsibility surrounding the death of Sylvia Kemunto.
