At the same time, he confidently declared that President William Ruto’s re-election in the 2027 General Election is inevitable.
Ruku made the remarks on Saturday, January 31, 2026, while speaking at Kianwe Primary School grounds during a relief food distribution exercise.
His comments came amid rising political tension following complaints filed with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and demonstrations held at the offices of the Inspector General of Police.
Addressing residents and local leaders, Ruku said the opposition has abandoned lawful channels and chosen what he described as political drama aimed at attracting attention rather than seeking real solutions.
According to him, protests outside key institutions risk creating chaos and undermining public trust.
“The opposition has chosen theatrics over the rule of law. Marching to IEBC and the Inspector General’s office will not bring justice.
Justice is found in institutions, not in incitement and political drama,” Ruku said.
The Cabinet Secretary argued that Kenya has clear legal systems and independent institutions meant to address disputes and grievances.
He urged political leaders to respect these structures instead of mobilising supporters for street protests that could lead to violence and destruction.
Ruku accused opposition leaders of using incidents of violence to score political points, saying such actions threaten national stability.
He warned that incitement and constant agitation could hurt the economy and disrupt the daily lives of ordinary citizens.
On the 2027 election, Ruku said President William Ruto’s re-election is assured, citing what he described as strong government performance and ongoing development projects across the country.
He said the administration is focused on delivering services, supporting vulnerable communities, and strengthening the economy, while the opposition remains busy with protests.
