"I am the Now Joshua Taking Our People From Poverty to Canaan Through Singapore" Oburu Odinga's Revelations Leaves ODM Supporters Speculating

ODM party leader Dr. Oburu Odinga has broken his silence on simmering tensions within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and the Odinga family, calling for discipline, unity and a renewed focus on what he describes as the party’s historic mission of economic emancipation.

Speaking amid growing public disagreements among ODM leaders and differing opinions on the party’s future direction, Dr. Oburu warned against internal dissent that undermines collective decisions.

He described such conduct as harmful to the party’s stability and credibility.

Expressions that do not build on what the party has resolved to pursue, and instead seek to divert the party and its constituency or stop it from doing what it is meant to do, amount to what I describe as destructive criticism that undermines the party,” Oburu said.

He added that the problem arises “when people who are still within the party disagree strongly with its direction, align themselves with others outside, and advance contrary views while claiming to speak for the party.”

His remarks come at a time when ODM is grappling with internal debates over leadership, generational change and coalition politics ahead of the 2027 General Election.

These tensions have also spilled into the Odinga family, with Raila Odinga’s daughter, Winnie Odinga, at times expressing views perceived to contradict those of her uncle, particularly on youth inclusion and the future of the party.

Seeking to de-escalate the situation, Dr. Oburu revealed plans for a family meeting scheduled for February 1 to address any issues.
