Gachagua's Party DCP Sends Out a Tough Statement, Returns MP Koimburi's Donated Property With a Message

Democracy for the Citizens Party has returned furniture including tables previously donated by Juja MP George Koimburi to its Kiambu County office, delivering them directly to his home. The action, captured in a video shared by DCP TV on X, was led by Kiambu County DCP Coordinator Hon. Sovingar wa Bibiana, OGW, alongside other party leaders.

It followed Koimburi's 7-day ultimatum, issued in an interview after his fallout with party leader Rigathi Gachagua, demanding the return of items he claimed to have contributed to the party's operations in the region. DCP's response was swift and pointed. The party not only complied but escalated the gesture by transporting the items straight to Koimburi's residence, framing it as a firm rejection of perceived disloyalty. In the accompanying post, DCP TV declared:

"That's how moles should be treated!" a clear jab implying Koimburi had been acting as an informant or infiltrator, echoing earlier party statements accusing him of being recruited by President William Ruto to spy on DCP activities in exchange for leniency on pending criminal cases involving land fraud and a self-staged abduction.

The drama stems from Koimburi's abrupt exit from DCP earlier this month. He accused Gachagua of betrayal after the party entertained rival aspirants in his Juja constituency, including Aloise Kinyanjui brother of Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, dashing his hopes for a direct nomination in 2027.

DCP countered that Koimburi was never a formal member and had grown unreliable, citing his alleged self-abduction ploy and demands for special treatment. This tit-for-tat has intensified divisions in Mt. Kenya politics, with DCP portraying the return as a no-nonsense stance against opportunists.

Supporters hailed it as a "masterclass in handling moles," while critics see it as petty drama amid broader defections from Gachagua's camp. The episode underscores the volatile alliances within the party as 2027 looms, sending a strong message: loyalty is non-negotiable.
