Full List of Top Mt Kenya Leaders at Gachagua's High Profile Meeting as Malala's Absence is Felt

Questions are mounting over the position of former Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala within the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) after he skipped a key party retreat held at the Coast.

The three-day meeting in Mombasa was chaired by former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua and brought together DCP lawmakers and aspirants to assess the party’s progress and map out its 2026 and 2027 strategy.

Malala, who has been widely viewed as Gachagua’s deputy and a central figure in the party’s early days, was notably absent. His no-show added to growing speculation, especially after he has also failed to appear in several recent DCP rallies.
