In his message, Kuria appeared to challenge Mt Kenya residents to look beyond the political alliances taking shape around them and ask who genuinely stands with their interests.
“Dear Mt. Kenya people. From what has happened this week, are there any doubts left that you are the only ones who are in the opposition with a view to sending Ruto home?” Kuria asked.
He went further, warning that other political players could be primarily interested in securing Mt Kenya’s estimated eight million votes to strengthen their own presidential ambitions.
According to Kuria, voters should carefully examine the intentions of those seeking their support, arguing that some politicians could abandon the region once they secure the numbers needed to win the presidency.
