Moses Kuria Breaks Silence After UDA Loss, Reveals Key Lessons From Ol Kalou Vote

Former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has reflected on the United Democratic Alliance's (UDA) defeat in the Ol Kalou by-election, saying the outcome should prompt the government to rethink how it delivers development to Kenyans.

Speaking during a television interview on Sunday night, August 9, Kuria said he had discussed the outcome with President William Ruto and other members of the team as they sought to understand what went wrong.

Kuria said the discussions led to a broader realization that voters have the democratic right to make their own political choices, regardless of the development projects or resources directed to their areas.

He argued that the government cannot force development on communities that have made different political choices.

According to Kuria, the Ol Kalou outcome should also serve as a lesson on the country's limited resources and how government projects are prioritized across different regions.
