Former Kibaki Minister Lands New Job Days After Quitting Gachagua Party

Former Kigumo MP and Cabinet Minister Jamleck Kamau has embarked on a new political path after being appointed national chairperson of the Wiper Patriotic Front.

Kamau’s appointment comes shortly after he withdrew from the race for the Murang’a gubernatorial seat and left the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), a political outfit associated with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

The veteran politician had been positioning himself as a possible contender for the Murang’a governorship in the 2027 General Election. His decision to abandon the race and take up a senior position within the Wiper Patriotic Front represents a major change in his political plans ahead of the highly anticipated elections.

With his extensive experience in both national and local politics, Kamau is expected to bring valuable political knowledge to his new position.

His background as a former Member of Parliament and Cabinet minister could be instrumental as the party works to strengthen its grassroots structures, recruit prominent political figures and establish strategic partnerships ahead of 2027.
