Photos have emerged of Pastor Bernard Mulongo, a Ugandan preacher who was killed after participating in a Christian-Muslim debate in Butebo District, where two Muslim women reportedly converted to Christianity.
The 25-year-old pastor from New Restoration Church of Christ had travelled to the area to take part in an open-air interfaith discussion before later appearing on a local radio programme to continue the debate.
According to reports, the event took a dramatic turn when two Muslim women publicly embraced Christianity.
Fellow pastor David Omala alleged that tensions rose after the conversions, with one participant accusing Mulongo of misleading Muslims by using passages from the Quran during the discussion.
After the debate and radio programme, Mulongo and his friend, Robert Mukisa, were travelling by motorcycle to their accommodation when they were reportedly intercepted by several men on motorcycles in Jami village, about nine miles from Mbale. TO READ MORE, CLICK HERE.
