Mudavadi Declares Presidential Bid, Rules Out Deputy Role as Sifuna’s Support Rises in Western Kenya

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has renewed his push for Western Kenya to rally behind a presidential ambition, telling members of the Mulembe community that the region should remain focused on producing its first Head of State instead of settling for the second-highest office.

Addressing supporters in Nairobi on July 19, Mudavadi said he had already made history as the first person from the region to serve as vice president and now wanted to complete that journey by becoming president.

He also revealed that he would reduce his foreign engagements to concentrate on strengthening support across Nairobi and Western Kenya.

He said the mobilisation would begin with meetings in Westlands before expanding to other areas as he seeks to unite the community behind a common political goal.
