A woman from Kiharu in Murang'a County has shared the painful story of how a relationship she believed would bring her happiness ended with her spending two years in prison while pregnant.
Nancy Wambui recalled that life had already been difficult before her arrest. She dropped out of school because of financial hardship and became a mother at a young age.
After the father of her first child failed to provide meaningful support, she relied on casual jobs to provide food and milk for her baby.
She later met another man, and the two dated for about five months. According to Nancy, everything changed after the man visited her one evening.
