This follows a statement he shared on Tuesday announcing that the opposition will form a “People’s IEBC” to act as a watchdog against the newly appointed electoral commission.
In the joint statement signed by Kalonzo Musyoka, Martha Karua, Fred Matiang’i, Justin Muturi, and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, the opposition dismissed President William Ruto’s recent IEBC appointments as biased and politically motivated.
They claimed the new commissioners were handpicked to serve the interests of Ruto’s camp ahead of the 2027 general election.
“We will not sit back and watch the subversion of democracy.
