"You Will Never Replicate What Raila Did to KANU” Miguna Tells Sifuna and Orengo

Lawyer and political commentator Miguna Miguna has criticized ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna and Siaya Governor James Orengo, saying they cannot successfully repeat the political strategy that Raila Odinga used against KANU in 2002.

In a post shared on X, Miguna argued that the two leaders are comparing themselves to Raila without understanding the key differences between the situations.

Miguna explained that Raila entered KANU as the leader of the National Development Party (NDP). According to him, NDP and KANU went through formal negotiations before eventually merging.

This gave Raila and his allies significant political influence within the ruling party at the time.

He noted that Sifuna and Orengo joined ODM as individual members and not as leaders of separate political parties.

Because of this, Miguna believes they do not have the same political position that Raila had when he challenged KANU's leadership more than two decades ago.
