Speaking during an interview on Radio Citizen on Monday morning, June 15, the former Ndaragwa MP said the opposition must avoid assuming that agreeing on a single candidate will automatically guarantee public support.

The ex-Jubilee MP argued that the process to pick a joint presidential candidate should be guided by the views of Kenyans rather than political interests.

Kioni acknowledged the growing calls for a united opposition to field one candidate against President William Ruto but stressed that the final decision should involve extensive consultations with Kenyans.
