Mzee Andrea Chamdany, a respected local artist known for his deeply reflective gospel songs, was honoured in a colourful ceremony where he was gifted two fully furnished modern houses and a brand-new Toyota Probox.
The event drew residents, local leaders, and well-wishers who gathered at his homestead to witness what many described as a long-overdue recognition of his contribution to community life.
Kapseret MP Oscar Kipchumba Sudi, who attended the event alongside other leaders, said the gesture was meant to appreciate Chamdany’s decades of musical influence.
His songs, often rooted in everyday struggles and moral lessons, have been part of church gatherings and community events across the region.
