Speaking in remarks that have since attracted attention online, Gachagua disclosed that he severed ties with the unnamed politician after being accused of steering the party's agenda too heavily toward the Mt. Kenya region.
According to Gachagua, the accusation deeply disappointed him and marked a turning point in their relationship.
"I told him that my respect for him is gone."
The former Deputy President said he strongly disagreed with suggestions that DCP was focused primarily on advancing Mt. Kenya interests.
He maintained that the party was established as a national movement aimed at bringing together leaders and supporters from different regions of the country.
