Speaking during a public gathering in Kajiado County, Gachagua said the elders appealed to him to consider forgiveness and national unity despite the tensions that have continued to define his relationship with the president.
According to the former deputy president, the elders acknowledged the political humiliation and betrayal he believes he suffered after falling out with Ruto and sections of the Kenya Kwanza administration.
He claimed the delegation pleaded with him to rise above the conflict for the sake of peace and stability in the country.
